Colorado whitewater Kayaking BaileyFest 2018

Colorado creeking is really freacking fun, Bailey fest was such a good highlight of my late summer kayaking this season. Stoked I made it to add another all times classic to the list. So similar to the creeking style of Ecuador really feel at home in this style runs, makes me feel at home. I believe the level was 600 cfs on this video. I wish someday I can see it with more water.
Another reason why CO is so cool. #boofsessions.

Big thanks to The Pete Bellande Team of RE/MAX of Cherry Creek and Colorado Whitewater for putting on this great event! They could not have done it without the generous support of Jackson Kayak, Good River Beer and Fun is OK -a Denver Based graphic design firm that made the t-shirts and stickers. Even if you don't need a graphic designer, follow @funisok on insta for creative inspiration and to be in the know on some of the best breweries in Denver. Huge thanks also to Denver Water, who went out of their way to put almost 600cfs in the Canyon! There is a reason why so many CO boaters travel to Ecuador to paddle every winter -our rivers down there have the same kind of continuous whitewater needed to keep the rust out during off-season, but with the luxury of warm water while being immersed in the warmth of the local culture. Whether renting a boat, wanting a guide or looking to combine paddling with yoga or stand up paddle boarding, reach out to Abe and Boof Sessions to make the most of your trip to paddle the Amazon Headwaters this winter.

"my biggest year yet" - whitewater kayaking highlights 2018 Adrian Mattern

2018 has been a bit of everything for me.
Some of the best and some of the saddest moments of my life happened within the last year.
I am super happy with how the last twelve months turned out for my kayaking and the places I got to explore with the people I can call my friends fortunately.
I was able to achieve nearly all my, very optimistic, goals for the year so that’s awesome!
After 2017 I really wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to have another year as full on and as epic as 2017 was but luckily most missions and adventures just worked out fine!
Unfortunately we all lost some friends on the river this year which once again was a brutal reminder for me that if I want to play the game I got to accept the rules.
Anyways, much love to everyone supporting me on my journey and just know: the fire burns hotter than ever and I can’t wait to see where 2019 will take me! Stoked for the future!!
Thanks to the homiez for the good times, more to come soon!!

thanks to: Flow Motion Aerials, Evan Moore, Alec Voorhees Evan Garcia, Olaf Obsommer, Peter Holcombe, Casey Bryant Jones for the additional footage!
