Baku 2015 is the 1st European Games. Find out more on our official website ( follow us on Twitter ( and Facebook (

For competitors in the sport of Shooting, having the ability to remain calm and collected in high-pressure situations is essential for success. The Baku 2015 European Games will be no exception with athletes focused on winning gold across 19 medal events. These are divided into three categories, depending on the type of firearm used. In Rifle and Pistol events, competitors aim at a stationary target from a range of set distances. In the Shotgun events of Trap, Double Trap and Skeet, competitors shoot at moving clay targets launched above and in front of them. Depending on the event, athletes are required to shoot from standing, kneeling or prone positions.

At Baku 2015, Shooting will see 210 men and 120 women set their sights on gold at the new Baku Shooting Centre. The competition will include nine men’s events, six women’s events and four mixed team events, with the Shooting action beginning on 16 June and finishing on 22 June 2015. In addition to winning a gold medal, the winner in each of the 15 individual Shooting events will automatically receive a quota place for the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

Skeet Station 8 Shooting Tips—Hold Point and Break Point

On Skeet Station 8, your hold point should be level with the window, out from the house about 4 feet. Keep the gun down and out of the way to see the target with better visual acuity. Look right in the window.” - Todd Bender, winner of 20 NSSA National Championships.

Skeet Shooting - Pattern Analysis - See the Pellets! - ShotKam (Barrel Shotgun Camera)

To learn more about ShotKam:
To purchase a ShotKam:

What is a ShotKam? Well, the ShotKam is a gun-mounted camera that is specifically designed to withstand the shock of a recoil, while recording video seamlessly. It is the perfect training tool for shooting instructors!

Three of the features that make ShotKam unique are:

1. It has Wi-Fi so that the shots can be downloaded directly to your phone while in the field
2. It has a reticle (seen as a crosshair in the videos) which SHOWS you where you were shooting
3. It automatically knows WHEN to record a video so that no video editing is required

The Wi-Fi is built-into the ShotKam, so you can watch your shots directly on your phone anytime, anywhere.

The reticle is adjusted to your gun’s point-of-aim, so it represents where the bead of the shotgun was.

The ShotKam’s internal accelerometer registers forces to tell the camera when to record and when not to record.

The ShotKam is a specialized gun camera that operates using an internal accelerometer. The accelerometer registers forces to signal when to record, and when not to record. Only the gun recoil will trigger a video to record. There is an adjustable reticle (crosshair) which is aligned to the gun’s point-of-aim. This reticle, typically a crosshair, shows where the muzzle was when the shot was taken. The ShotKam has Wi-Fi which allows the shooters to easily adjust the reticle and settings, and download shots to watch while out in the field.

When CLAY shooting, simply press the power button ON at the beginning of the day and let the camera work intelligently in the background. The ShotKam will go in and out of “Sleep Mode” to save battery. When the action of the gun is closed, the ShotKam wakens from Sleep Mode and begin to record video (but run it through a memory buffer). When the camera feels the RECOIL of the gun, it saves the 2 seconds before, and the 1 second after the recoil. It then puts the shot into ¼ speed and adds the reticle. If there is inactivity for 20 seconds, then it goes back to sleep mode (slow blinking green LED). The camera lasts between 5 – 6 hours when shooting sporting clays and it is 100% waterproof as long as the rear cap is on (to protect the charging port).

The short video recordings can be viewed frame-by-frame, so that even the PELLETS CAN BE SEEN for a few frames! It records 120 fps, which is approximately 1 frame every 3 yards.

The recording time, sleep mode, gun type, reticle type, etc are all adjustable settings. The ShotKam can record in full-speed, ½ speed, ¼ speed, or 1/8 speed. The ShotKam comes with a 12G mount but we offer additional bracket sizes too (20G, 28G, side-by-side 12G, and .410).

A ShotKam can be purchased through our website at

How to Shoot Skeet: Explaining the Hoop

For most beginners the concepts of lead and gun hold can be confusing (and overwhelming!). Because of this beginners have a tendency to miss off the line of target flight and by not being able to see the correct lead picture. This clip explains how you can easily improve your scores by placing 4 stacks of clays out on the course and using the shooters view or relative distance between them to determine the proper lead. In addition, imagining the presence of the 18 foot hoop, which is used to calibrate the flight of the target will also be explained. Please note that reference to the stacks or clays and hoop are made throughout all of our skeet clips.
