How To Aim Using Side Spin

In this pool lesson I am going to show you how spin changes the path of the cueball and the object ball and how to adjust your aim when using spin. In order to understand how the cueball and the object ball react, and how you have to adjust your aim, you have to know about deflection, cut induced throw, spin induced throw and the ghost ball principle.

Pool Lesson | How Spin Changes The Path Of The Cueball

Information to this lesson:

If things are unclear I would recommend to watch the video multiple times or to pause the video and look at the images and diagrams. Different tips on the shaft and different conditions might change the behaviour of this system. For example maybe quarter a tip equals a diamond. You have to figure that factor out when learning this system related to your equipment. I have created a drill that helps you practising these shots. The drill is available on my Patreon account in the Join The Club tier.

SPINNING WHEEL SCOOTER TRICKS CHALLENGE!

I've seen a few videos online of people doing spinning wheel games within the action sports world. I've seen it with bmx, mountain bikes, etc. but haven't seen a scooter version thus far. So, I did one myself at Mega Zone skatepark with a few friends! The object of the game is to land on a specific trick and choose a piece of paper that has a location on it. You then have to do whatever trick you landed on at the location that you chose. Once you've done the trick, you move on to the next trick and so on and so forth. I had so much fun doing this challenge and I think it turned out pretty good! Really struggled on the 720 today, but we still got it.

Thank you so much for watching todays video and enjoy! Let me know if there is anything else in particular you would like to see on this channel!

Snooker Tip: When To Use Side Spin...

After spending half an hour or so taking student Ronnie through a session on how to aim with side spin, I demonstrated when to use and not use side.
The basic rule is.... DON'T USE SIDE! But for the occasions when you do there are two main types:
1. Angle Distortion
2. Gentle Assistance

We talk about John Higgin's green to open a pack during one of his clearances against Mark Williams in the recent world final, and other key shot types that are useful to practice for the 40+ break player.

For reference when discussing the green, the 'T Angle' refers to the angle the cue ball comes off the object ball if it is sliding / not spinning / acting as if it would act on a straight stop shot.
This angle is ninety degrees, or square, to the direction of the OBJECT BALL.
If the cue ball has top spin or backspin, the cue ball will still project at the T Angle but at some point along that line depending on spin and speed and angle of shot, the cue ball will pull away with the arc or banana effect we have come to know so well.

JO (SHORT STAFF) BASIC SPINNING AND STRIKING TUTORIAL | MATT PASQUINILLI

Learn how to use the Japanese short staff, or Jo in this basic tutorial with Matt Pasquinilli of 89tigers.com

Jojutsu, Jodo, Aikido jo, and Morgan from The Walking Dead, all use this kind of staff. It is a ton of fun, but takes practice to do well!

Lars Andersen: Turning Arrows

Arrows fly directions can be changed in the air.
It is one of the funniest things to do in archery.
It's actually quite easy, all experienced archers should easily be able to learn this.

It can be done with ordinary arrows, but it is far easier to learn with an arrow where there is air resistance at the tip of the arrow.
Best with a set of extra feathers in front of the arrow
But arrows with big hunting tips also work (but it is harder)

You place the arrow on strings, not in the middle, but at least one hand width from the center.
One has to experiment finding the right distance from the center of the string.

When the arrow is shot, then the wrong centering causes pushing the back of the arrow to the one side, and then the air resistance causes the arrow to rotate back, this makes the arrow turn.

An arrow that comes back completely
The return arrow requires to be shot against the wind.

It is historically described that trick archery must be done with a light bow.
Any kind of turn arrows reduces speed the more the arrow turns the more loss of power.
It works well with powerful bows but again big turn loses power.
I think only it is possible to make dangerous shots with small turns.
With my 53 pound bow and small turn the arrow hit with a lot of power.

It is historically described to hit an enemy with a turning arrow, but not if it is deadly.

Can it have practical function in combat?
Impossible to know today, but a hypothetical example:
If a man is hiding behind an obstacle, for example. a tree and he is hit with a turn arrow so he may not be killed.
But then he will probably move and then he can next be killed with a straight arrow!

But the real reason for doing this today is that it is very fun.

Why shoot around real people in video?
Only when i had been doing it for a long time
and was 100% able to shoot around every time
I tried to shoot around real people.
And of course, first of all, we made many many tests without people but with the same setup and obstacles.
If it had exposed those who participated in any possible danger, I would of course not have done that.

The purpose of shooting around people was to show that this is completely controllable.

Criticism is good
But i remove hateful not funny comments.
I also remove negative and incorrect comments from
people who think themselves to be archery experts, but do not know history, physical laws etc..

Sincerely
Lars Andersen
