If really good things can come in small packages then really fast things can come in really small packages, too. Buddenbaum and Noyes are going GREEN. They are testing an electric battery pack in 2009.

Max Stöckl Sets WORLD RECORD Fastest MTB Downhill Speed: 167KPH!

►Get the lowdown on Max Stöckl’s V-Max project as he attempts to break a MTB downhill speed record:
Markus 'Max' Stöckl is driven by the need for speed. The general manager of the World Cup-running MS-Racing Mondraker MTB Team likes nothing better than to go down a slope as fast as possible and has been setting speed downhill mountain-bike records for over 20 years.

For his new V-Max project, 42-year-old Stöckl was aiming to beat his own speed world record for cycling down a gravel-based mountain on a production mountain bike. The current record was set In 2011 when Max bombed down the volcanic cone of Cerro Negro in Nicaragua at 164.95kph.

Stöckl and his six-man support team identified Chile’s Atacama Desert on the country’s Pacific Coast. Nothing thrives here, all that can be seen is boulders and stones for miles and miles.

New Land Speed Record Set By Donald Campbell - 403mph (1964) | Sporting History

Campbell was a British speed record breaker who is the only person to have set both world water and land speed records in the same year (1964). On 17 July 1964, Campbell set a new world land speed record of 403.10mph for a four-wheeled car (Class A) at Lake Eyre, Australia. He was however disappointed with the record as his Norris Brothers designed Bluebird-Proteus CN7 had been constructed to reach speeds of 500mph. Campbell went on that year to set another water speed record at 276.33mph. Campbell was killed whilst attempting to set his 8th water speed record in 1967.

Hiro Koiso Land Speed Record:Bonneville Stories

Hiro Koiso sets a new AMA and FIM records at the 2013 BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials on the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Hiro very possibly the story that most exemplifies what Bonneviile is all about. After he crashed his bike in 2010, Hiro loaned Roger Golhammer's team his entire engine that Hiro had worked on for a year and they watched Jimmy Paulgaard run it for a land speed record. That kind of unselfishness and camaraderie is what makes the BUB event so special. Scooter Grubb
