Pro Kabaddi 2019 Highlights | Bengal Warriors vs Haryana Steelers | M97

[Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Maninder leads from the front as Bengal Warriors eclipse Haryana Steelers

Bengal Warriors dominated the first half and kept the reign on the game in the second as they outclassed Haryana Steelers 48-36 at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mahalunge, Balewadi in Pune on Thursday. Captain Maninder Singh led from the front with a career-best 18 raid points and was ably supported by a six-point High 5 by Baldev Singh.

While Vinay starred for Haryana Steelers with 14 raid points and Vikash Kandola with nine, it was their defence that held them back as they trailed the opposition by six tackle points, which eventually proved to be the game changer.

In the first half, Maninder ran riot as he picked up a bulk of the raid points and he was ably supported by his team’s defence. Their efforts soon inflicted the first All Out of the night to bring the scores to 10-3.

Haryana Steelers were put on the back foot as a result as at the reset the pressure built up allowing Bengal Warriors to pick up points at will. Maninder continued to inflict damage, particularly when he picked up two successive multi-point raids to build the lead to over ten points with the scoreline ballooning to 19-6. On the other side of the mat, Bengal Warriors’ defence continued to limit the Haryana Steelers’ offence and soon inflicted a second All Out with the scores at a daunting 22-7.

When the teams reassembled, Bengal Warriors continued their assault while Haryana Steelers finally managed their first tackle points on the board, indicating where they had been severely lacking so far. Haryana Steelers then managed three straight points, bringing the scoreline to 25-11 and the deficit to 14.

But then a Mohammad Nabibakhsh two-pointer kept the opposition in check as Bengal Warriors finished the half with a healthy 30-14 advantage. Bengal Warriors were afflicted as Kandola was tackled successfully five times in that period while their defence failed in 15 tackle attempts, and Maninder’s nine raid points added to the damage.

The fight back

When the second half began, Maninder Singh completed his Super 10 and Bengal Warriors soon inflicted the third All Out, the score inflating to 34-15.

Trailing by 19 points, Haryana Steelers then upped their game as Kandola started delivering along with the defence. Vinay too contributed with a Super Raid and Kandola’s touch points on the last two defenders handed Bengal Warriors’ first All Out of the night as the score read 36-24.

Bengal Warriors hit back at the reset with Maninder continuing to add to his tally, only to be matched by Kandola. When the Bengal Warriors skipper managed a two-pointer, for Naveen brought his own two-point raid to the table. But the gap had increased to 12 in Bengal Warriors’ favour.

Baldev Singh then managed to tackle Kandola to complete his High 5 and the two teams continued to trade points with Vinay managing successive raid points. The gap had inched down to 10 but with less than three minutes left on the clock a K. Pranpanjan two-point raid got the game to 45-33 and comprehensively out of Haryana Steelers’ reach.

While Naveen managed to add a few more points in his tally, it was a little too late as Bengal Warriors sealed the game comfortably.

Pro Kabaddi 2019 Highlights |Tamil Thalaivas vs Bengaluru Bulls | Hindi M45

[Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Pawan Sehrawat and Nandal star as Bengaluru Bulls win on opening night in Chennai

‘Hi-Flyer’ Pawan Sehrawat scored his fifth Super 10 while Saurabh Nandal scored his second High 5 of the season in their team’s win.

A fifth Super 10 of the season from ‘Hi-Flyer’ Pawan Sehrawat and a second career High 5 from Saurabh Nandal helped Bengaluru Bullscurb their two-match losing streak and beat Tamil Thalaivas by a scoreline of 32-21 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on Saturday.

Sehrawat was off to an unbelievable start as he scored a point in all but two of his first seven raid attempts. The Bengaluru Bulls defence, too, starved Tamil Thalaivas’ offence for points and tackled Ajay Thakur and Shabeer Bappu as the visitors raced off to a 7-0 start. The last man on the mat for Tamil Thalaivas, Manjeet Chhillar, went in to raid and picked up a bonus to get his team off the mark, but he too was tackled as the reigning champions inflicted an All-Out in just under seven minutes.

The home side fared much better after reassembling on the mat and outscored Bengaluru Bulls 5-2 over the next five minutes to cut their deficit to seven. Shabeer’s two-point raid and Thakur’s touch point on Nandal got the momentum on Tamil Thalaivas’ side. But three unanswered points from Bengaluru Bulls put them back up by eight points. Tamil Thalaivas added two more points to their score while allowing the visitors just one as the teams headed into the half-time break with Bengaluru Bulls leading 17-10.

After a cagey seven minutes in the second period, V Ajith Kumar’s touch point, followed by a Ran Singh tackle on Rohit Kumar, saw Tamil Thalaivas cut the deficit down to just four points. Thakur and Mohit Chhillar then added two more points to their team’s score to reduce Bengaluru Bulls down to just two.

But the Season 6 champions responded with a Super Tackle followed by a two-point raid by Ankit, which extended their lead back up to six. Nandal’s tackle on Ajith Kumar not only gave him his High 5 but also reduced Tamil Thalaivas down to three men on the mat. Two more raid points from Sehrawat and a self-out from Ran Singh helped Bengaluru Bulls inflict an All-Out and take an 11-point lead.

Both teams added a couple of points to their score over the final three minutes of the contest as Bengaluru Bulls emerged victors by 11 points.

Pro Kabaddi 2019 Highlights | Puneri Paltan vs Patna Pirates | M92

[Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Neeraj and Pardeep let Patna Pirates run rampant against Puneri Paltan

Patna Pirates beat Puneri Paltan 55-33 as defender Neeraj Kumar scored a High 5 worth a record 11 points.

Patna Pirates handed Puneri Paltan a crushing 55-33 loss at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mahalunge, Balewadi in Pune on Sunday after extensive scoring by the visitors on either side of the mat. While the in-form Pardeep Narwal added another Super 10 to his tally, Neeraj Kumar stood out with a record-equaling 11 tackle points that never allowed the opposition to hit back.

While it was Puneri Paltan that took the early initiative with an early 7-3 lead, that witnessed Pankaj Mohite executing a Super Raid that got Jang Kun Lee, Jaideep and Monu out, Patna Pirates were quick to turn things around.

Pardeep Narwal got into the act with a two-point raid that got rid of Mohite and Neeraj Kumar got a Super Tackle on Nitin Tomar to level the scores at 7-all. Pardeep continued the assault along with some astute defending from Patna Pirates that soon saw the home team All Out and trailing 9-14.

At the reset, Patna Pirates didn't relent despite Mohite's two-pointer that got rid of Neeraj Kumar and Vikas Jaglan as Pardeep responded with his own two-point raid. Points were traded between the two teams but Pardeep soon reached his Super 10 and Neeraj claimed his High 5 which meant that Puneri Paltan were on the back foot despite the raiding efforts of Mohite and Manjeet.

Puneri Paltan were soon All Out as they went into the half chasing 17-27, with Patna Pirates setting a Season 7 record of scoring the most points in the first half.

In the second half, Puneri Paltan came out with purpose particularly Surjeet Singh who managed two tackles in the opening three minutes, but Patna Pirates gelled as a unit and picked the opposition one by one. Neeraj Kumar, especially, was impressive. After Nitin Tomar got two successive raid points, Neeraj countered with two straight successful tackles and along with captain Pardeep inflicted the second All Out of the night on Puneri Paltan with the home side trailing 25-39.

With a daunting 14-point lead and 10 minutes left on the clock, Puneri Paltan needed to go on the offensive when they reassembled. But Patna Pirates kept their score ticking, countering the home team's efforts, this time Monu stepping up with a tackle on Amit Kumar and a two-point raid that extended his team's lead to 16.

Tomar's back-to-back successful raids were met by Pardeep's knack of picking off defenders while Neeraj became the first player this season to reach 10 tackle points in a match. A raid point and a Super Tackle on Pardeep by Amit Kumar offered some resistance before Hadi Oshtorak wrapped up with a raid that got Manjeet, Hadi Tajik and Puneri Paltan's third All Out.

Patna Pirates’ prolific scoring on both sides of the match meant that they had scored the most number of points in a single match this season as they cruised to their third straight victory by 22 points.

Neeraj Kumar's 11 tackle points on the night were the most by a defender in a match equaling the vivo Pro Kabaddi record set by Manjeet Chhillar in Season 4.

Pro Kabaddi 2019 Highlights | Patna Pirates vs Jaipur Pink Panthers | M86

[Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Patna Pirates outplay Jaipur Pink Panthers through Pardeep and Lee’s smart raiding

Pardeep Narwal’s excellent 14 raid point-performance, supported by Neeraj Kumar’s High 5 and Jang Kun Lee’s intelligent raiding in the dying minutes, gave Patna Pirates a 36-33 victory over Jaipur Pink Panthers at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on Thursday. Sushil Gulia came off the bench to score 8 points in 8 raids for Jaipur Pink Panthers and Sandeep Dhull managed another High 5, but the team was unable to overcome the three-time champions in the closing minutes of the game.

The raiders from both sides got early success before Patna Pirates’ defence struck by sending Deepak Hooda to the bench through Neeraj Kumar. Another tackle on Nitin Rawal then gave Patna Pirates more momentum before Pardeep Narwal’s Super Raid put them firmly in the driver’s seat.

Pardeep then put in three more successful raids to bring Jaipur Pink Panthers on the verge of an All-Out, before a Super Tackle on the ‘Record-Breaker’ by Sandeep Dhull turned things around for his side. Ajinkya Pawar then put in two successful Do-or-Die raids, split by Amit Hooda’s tackle on Jang Kun Lee, to reduce Patna Pirates down to three men on the mat.

Jaideep came to Patna Pirates’ rescue just at the right time to Super Tackle Pawar before Pardeep got a touch point on Rawal to reduce the score difference to one as Jaipur Pink Panthers led 15-14 at halftime.

Amit Hooda’s Super Tackle on Pardeep in his first raid of the second period and Dhull’s Super Tackle on Monu soon after extended Jaipur Pink Panthers’ lead. But Lee’s two-point raid followed by Pardeep’s touches on Deepak and Nilesh Salunke in successive raids then reduced Jaipur Pink Panthers down to a solitary man, which soon translated to an All-Out to bring the score difference back to one point at 23-24 with 12 minutes left to play.

Pardeep reached his Super 10 after the reset with a two-point raid to put Patna Pirates in the lead. But Dhull’s tackle on Pardeep in his next raid put Jaipur Pink Panthers back in the lead along with bringing up the defender’s High 5.

Patna Pirates went back in the lead through Lee, but Sushil Gulia’s Super Raid brought back parity at 29-29 with just four minutes remaining on the clock. The teams kept trading blows from this point as Pardeep and Lee for Patna Pirates, and Deepak and Sushil for Jaipur Pink Panthers, kept the scoreboard ticking. But Neeraj Kumar’s successful tackles on Deepak and Sushil in quick time gave Patna Pirates a slender lead going into the final seconds.

With a minute left to play, Lee ran down the clock brilliantly while Patna Pirates’ defence allowed Sushil just one point in the penultimate raid to help their team emerge successful by three points.

DURGAMATA VS NEW PARSHURAM KABADDI JUNIOR KABADDI MATCH 2019

Pro Kabaddi 2019 Highlights | Bengal Warriors vs Bengaluru Bulls | M88

[Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Bengal Warriors end home leg with thrilling win against Bengaluru Bulls

Bengal Warriors managed to get the better of Bengaluru Bulls in a high-scoring thriller by a scoreline of 42-40 in the final match at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on Thursday. Mohammad Nabibakhsh contributed all-around as he scored 3 raid points to go with his High 5. But the star of the show for Bengal Warriors was skipper Maninder Singh who scored 17 raid points and helped his team overcome Pawan Sehrawat’s 19-raid point effort.

Bengal Warriors raced ahead in the opening minutes through their captain Maninder Singh, who put in four successful raids, including a two-pointer, without being tackled even once. However, he got Super Tackled by Ankit in the 7th minute to put Bengaluru Bulls in the lead at 7-8.

Mohammad Nabibakhsh’s unsuccessful Do-or-Die raid followed by Rohit Kumar’s successful one then helped Bengaluru Bulls open up a four-point advantage. But Sukesh Hegde took out Mahender Singh in a Do-or-Die raid and followed it up with another successful two-point Do-or-Die raid to tie the scores at 12-all

Maninder then managed a touch on Ajay before Bengal Warriors completed an All-Out three minutes before the half ended by tackling Sumit Singh, taking a one-point lead in the contest. They hung on to that lead going into halftime as the scores favoured them 16-15.

The ‘Hi-Flyer’ started the second period in style for Bengaluru Bulls with a Super Raid, before Saurabh Nandal extended their lead by sending Hegde to the bench. Sehrawat then put in three back-to-back successful raids which eventually inflicted the All-Out on Bengal Warriors, opening up a seven-point lead for Bengaluru Bulls.

Sehrawat brought up his Super 10 soon after Bengal Warriors reassembled and Bengaluru Bulls’ defence helped the team take control of the match by sending the dangerous Maninder to the bench. However, Bengal Warriors managed to tackle down Sehrawat in his next two raids and then brought the score difference down to four through Nabibakhsh and Maninder in attack.

With a quarter of the contest still to be played, Nabibakhsh showcased his all-round ability with a successful tackle on Sehrawat which brought up his first vivo Pro Kabaddi High 5, while Maninder and Hegde’s raids added up to another All-Out on Bengaluru Bulls and put Bengal Warriors back on top at 32-31.

Both teams chose to rely on bonus points after that stage as the scores remained tied. Maninder’s Super Raid with less than three minutes left on the clock looked like it could turn things Bengal Warriors’ way, but Sehrawat struck back with a two-point raid to send Nabibakhsh and Rinku to the bench and also level the scores at 38 apiece.

Maninder and Sehrawat matched each other point-for-point from there but Bengal Warriors pulled off back-to-back tackles on Sehrawat and Rohit Kumar in Bengaluru Bulls’ final two raids to help their team claim victory.

Best Raider – Maninder Singh (17 Raid Points)

Best Defender – Mohammad Nabibakhsh (6 Tackle Points)

Pardeep Narwal becomes first player to cross 1000 raid points as Patna Pirates beat Tamil Thalaivas

Patna Pirates snapped their six-match losing streak in vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 7 with a 51-25 win over Tamil Thalaivas at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on Monday. ‘Record-Breaker’ Pardeep Narwal was the star of the show with 26 raids points and became the first player in league history to cross 1000 career raid points.

Patna Pirates started the game confidently with Pardeep Narwal causing all sorts of problems for Tamil Thalaivas’ defence. They inflicted the first All-Out of the game on Tamil Thalaivas in the ninth minute to open up an 11-4 lead and take immediate control of the match.

Pardeep then became the first player to reach 1000 raid points with around about five minutes left in the first half as Tamil Thalaivas’ defence struggled to find an answer for the ‘Record-Breaker’. Tamil Thalaivas eventually executed a Super Tackle on Pardeep towards the end of the half, but the Patna Pirates skipper still finished the opening period with 12 raid points to his name as his team took an 18-13 lead into the break.

The three-time champions began the second period with intent and enforced a second All-Out on Tamil Thalaivas four minutes into the half to extend their lead to 25-13. Pardeep wasn’t done yet, though, and continued to dominate proceedings. Two Super Raids by him in quick succession helped inflict a third All-Out on the southerners and extended Patna Pirates’ lead 37-15.
