Virgil: The Best Bucking Horse Of All Time

It's pretty early in his career, but C5 Rodeo's F13 Virgil has made quite the name for himself.

He's a 2X PRCA Bareback Horse of the Year, 3X CPRA Bareback Horse of the Year, and the arena records for both the NFR and CFR have been broken and re-set by him in 2018.

We're calling it. It's the year of Virgil.

Bareback Broncs - 2019 XIT Rodeo & Reunion (Saturday)

Professional rodeo cowboys in Dalhart, Texas compete in bareback bronc riding for points and bragging rights in this 83rd annual celebration of the XIT Ranch and its influence in the Texas Panhandle. #Rodeo #XITRodeo #RanchBroncs

There was nothing in the history of the West quite like the XIT Ranch. In the 1880s, it was the largest ranch in the world under the fence, and it sprawled across the Texas Panhandle up from the old Yellow House headquarters near what is now Lubbock, northward to the Oklahoma Panhandle in a crazy strip that was toughly thirty miles wide. At one time, the ranch ran over 150,000 cattle.

Ranch Broncs - 61st White Deer Rodeo - 2019

Rodeos involve large animals and they can be full of surprises when they begin to throw their weight around, especially in tight spaces leading to rodeo wrecks. Safety is the biggest concern for man and beast alike. Ranch bronc riding may have different rules than saddle and bareback but they use the same type of horses. #Rodeo #RanchBroncs #UPRA #BroncRiding #RodeoWrecks

The annual rodeos in White Deer, Texas are put on by the United Professional Rodeo Association (UPRA). The White Deer rodeo is held at White Deer Rodeo Grounds and hosted by Flying C Rodeo Company. The rodeo is sanctioned by the CPRA, KPRA, UPRA, & WPRA professional rodeo associations.

Originally based on the necessary horse breaking skills of a working cowboy, the event is now a highly stylized competition that utilizes horses that often are specially bred for strength, agility, and bucking ability. It is recognized by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and the International Professional Rodeo Association (IPRA).

Ranch Broncs - 2019 (32nd) Coors Cowboy Club Ranch Rodeo (Friday)

Fourteen working cattle ranches compete for honors at the Coors Cowboy Club Ranch Rodeo in Amarillo, Texas. Each invited ranch competes as a team and only the 12 top teams will be invited back the following year. #CCCRR #Rodeo #BroncRiding

All the events in this rodeo reflect the type of skills used by working cowboys on cattle ranches throughout the year. The ages and experience of the team members may vary quite a bit as these are not professional rodeo cowboys and may not have a lot of experience riding ranch broncs.
