Bouldering in Australia - Week 1

The past few weeks I have been in New Zealand shooting for an upcoming prAna Catalog so I was unable to shoot any of my own footage. However, I am now back and in Australia ready to drop the first installment of my trip down under! I spent the majority of my first week checking out some of the moderates I had not climbed before and exploring zones I had not visited in the past. This next week, there are a few harder lines I have my eyes on and cant wait to try! Stay tuned for more soon... The bouldering here is insane!

CLIMBING ABOVE THE WHALES - POINT PERPENDICULAR SEACLIFFS AND NORWRA SPORT CLIMBING, AUSTRALIA

This is the 5th episode of our big climbing trip in Australia.
During this week, we left the Blue Mountains and we start the roadtrip to the south. We first stoped at Norwa, the most popular sport climbing crag in New South Wales, where Jeremie tried a fun route on a big roof called Cowboy Junckie (7b) and managed to onsight his first 7b+ Muscle Hustler. Then we discovered a incredible seacliff called Point Perpendicular, where we climbed one of the most beautiful 6c of our lives, with whales swimming under us.
After those scary moments, we took a break at Raymond Island to watch at the koalas sleeping everywhere in the trees!

Stay tuned for the rest of the adventure, please make sure to follow us!

1ST TRAD CLIMBING EXPERIENCE IN THE GRAMPIANS, AUSTRALIA

We finally reached the Grampians!
This national park is know to offer some of the most beautiful sport and trad climbing routes in the world.
During the first week, we discovered several amazing sport climbing crags such as Gallery and its big overhang, Tower, the Hollow Mountain,...etc.
Then, our friends Pauline and Bryan came from Melbourne to spend a weekend with us. They taught us how to trad climb at the the crag Wall of Fools!
Even if we were pretty scared at the beginning, we can say we were not too bad it...
Watch the video to see more! ;)

More to come in week 3! I have some projects and I hope to put them down this week! wish me luck :)

Setting Circuits or Sectors? // 9 Degrees Sydney Routesetting Vlog#1

In Nikis Routesetting Vlog #1 he talks about different ways to set at a gym. At 9 Degrees we set circuits at alexandria & reset sectors every week at parramatta. what´s the difference and what are the pros or the cons? that´s what we´ll talk about with jack masel, manager of 9d parramatta and martijn, manager at alexandria.

there´s no right or wrong about setting either way you just need a different approach and the same motivation to set great boulders, cause that´s what it´s all about. setting the best possible boulder and creating an awesome experience!

let´s see what they say about it!

GRAMPIANS BOULDERING - THE PLACE TO BE IN AUSTRALIA

We spent a couple of days bouldering in the Grampians National Park (Victoria, Australia) with Pierre and Sonia from Fanatic Climbing.

What a incredible and wild experience.
If you're planning a trip there, just know you can rent some good crashpads at the Mt Zero Log Cabins, et and enjoy yourself all around the Hollow Mountain crags.

➡️ Andersen offers many easy and hard boulders, protected from the sun by hundred of eucalyptus.

➡️ Hollow Mountain Cave, Grampians has got a crazy roof (the biggest one in Australia), and also the most beautiful view! It is the place where Dai Koyamada completed the first ascent of Wheel of Life, V15.
