Alex Megos Climbs "Lucid Dreaming" (8C/V15) In Bishop

It was his hardest and his longest project to date: it took Alex Megos 11 days to ascend Lucid Dreaming (8C/V15) on the Grandpa Peabody boulder at Buttermilks in California.

► Watch more Alex Megos here:
► Find out more about Alex here:
He had tried the problem in November 2014, but had to get back home to Germany after three unsuccessful days. First thing he did on his return? Book a new flight ticket to the US to finish his project. Filmmaker Ken Etzel captured Alex’ intense days of fighting sharp granite and drying his way up with his shirt.

Boulder World Cup's 2016 - Hard Moves Part 1

Hey Guys!

Here is the first part of the highlights from this season! This Clip shows the first three world cup rounds, including Meiringen(SUI), Kazo(JPN) & Chongqing (CHN)!
I tried to choose the most thrilling moments!
Most of the boulders are incredibly though. The route setting was awesome and in my opinion a bit better than the ones from last year!
Enjoy the highlights & thank you for watching!

IFSC Climbing World Cup Wujiang 2019 - Bouldering Finals

The 2019 Wujiang Bouldering World Cup saw strong overall performances from the Japanese team, who claimed four of the total six podium places. The women’s competition was also highly anticipated featuring the return of Miho NONAKA (JPN) to the world cup scene and the opportunity to witness yet another nearly flawless performance by Janja GARNBRET (SLO).
For this event, the women’s boulders posed a highly physical challenge requiring precise reading to successfully make it to the top. Julia CHANOURDIE (FRA) was the first competitor, starting out her first bouldering world cup final with a zone on the first and second wall, but was unable to top any of the boulders and finishing in 6th place. Jessica PILZ (AUT) had a strong run with 2 tops and 2 zones, ultimately finishing in 5th behind NONAKA due to her number of total attempts.
It was Ai MORI (JPN), one of the youngest competitors this season, who surprised everyone during this event. With 3 tops, not only was this MORI’s first IFSC Bouldering World Cup, it was her first podium earning a bronze medal. Japanese climber Akiyo NOGUCHI continues to climb consistently this season earning herself another silver medal.
As the only climber to top W2, it was the impressive GARNBRET who seized the gold medal with 3 flashes and another 2-attempt top. With her 4th gold medal, she might just sweep the overall 2019 Bouldering World Cup season; only 2 more events left.

The men’s event was exciting from start to finish. With Tomoa NARASAKI (JPN) being the only competitor to successfully top M1, followed by 2 other consecutive tops, it appeared as if he was going to be the undisputed winner by M3. However, Kai HARADA (JPN), put up a fight until the very end narrowly missing out on gold due to number of total attempts. On M3, the judges had initially not recognized his top as valid, but after an appeal it was overruled granting him 3 total tops for the competition, including the challenging M4.
Keita DOHI, the first ever Youth Olympic Climbing Gold Medalist, earned an honorable 4th place just behind Austrian climber Jakob SCHUBERT, with Kokoro FUJII (JPN) and Jan HOJER (GER) placing 5th and 6th respectively.

IFSC Climbing World Cup Munich 2019 - Bouldering Finals

The sunny weather, enthusiastic crowd and sheer determination of the athletes made the 5th Bouldering World Cup of 2019 an unbelievable competition to watch. The aesthetic black and red holds were the backdrop to a fierce battle between the competitors, which showed that the strongest climber doesn’t always win.

The men were the first to compete and Russia’s Aleksey RUBTSOV started off strong with a near top on his first attempt but slipped before securing the final hold. The problem appeared to be almost too difficult for the rest of the men’s climbers until Adam ONDRA (CZE) flashed it to the cheers of the crowd.

The second boulder proved easier, with each climber reaching the top. Local favorite Jan HOJER (GER) initially had some difficulty on the start, but solved the problem with a kneebar. With two more boulders left to climb, the battle to first place was still on during M3. Jakob SCHUBERT (AUT) and RUBTSOV quickly figured out the dyno after a few attempts, while ONDRA stuck the move with only one hand. Both Jongwon CHON (KOR) and HOJER had trouble getting passed the balance part of the M3 slab.

All eyes were on M4 to see who would come out on top. Anze PEHARC (SLO) finished the competition honorably with an incredible attempt and shoulder press but slipped reaching for the final move, ending in 5th place. SCHUBERT pushed to the top, steadfastly sticking with a single method, and it paid off, ultimately earning him the gold medal. HOJER, determined to bring home a medal in front of the local crowd, surprised everyone with a flash, landing him in third. ONDRA only needed a zone to push SCHUBERT out of 1st place, and after his previous climbs, chances looked good. However, ONDRA had difficultly figuring out the correct sequence and ran out of time, finishing with a silver medal.

GIBERT turns up the heat
After a difficult Semi-Final round for the women, the Final round was highly anticipated. Ivegeniia KAZBEKOVA (UKR), the only other climber to top in the Semi-Finals beside Janja GARNBRET (SLO), started off strong on W1, topping after 3 attempts. Fanny GIBERT (FRA) and GARNBRET proceeded to flash the first boulder and the pressure was on. Slovenian Mia KRAMPL stole the show on W2, persevering through a knee injury, she managed a double catch dyno to the zone before conquering the top. Both Katja KADIC (SLO) and KAZBEKOVA gave their all on W2, climbing until their fingers bled and then continuing to get back on the wall.

GIBERT continued to put the pressure on GARNBRET on W3 with another top, but was pushed back down to second again when GARNBRET proceed to flash the problem. Julia CHANOURDIE (FRA) had a particularly impressive flash on W4, staying on the wall for over 2 minutes, finishing the competition in 4th. GIBERT followed with a 2-attempt top and tentative first place. The real MVP of the final though was KRAMPL who smoothly made her way to the zone despite her injury and wrestled her way to the top using a Figure 4 technique, and earning her place in third. It was GARNBRET however, who floated up the route, flashing her third problem of the night and seizing her 5th gold medal of the 2019 Bouldering World Cup season and her third consecutive Munich win.

GARNBRET is on her way to a historic Bouldering World Cup sweep, only needing to win the final Bouldering World Cup in Vail. ONDRA currently sits at the top of the men’s ranking with Japan’s Tomoa NARASAKI just behind. The final overall results will be determined on June 8, when the IFSC makes a stop in the USA.

Update: I will be separating from the Air Force near the end of July. It's been a long 6 plus years in the military and I'm ready to see what's in store for me in the future. If you guys haven't noticed, I haven't had the same free time that I had in Korea to create the old style content, but that's soon to change. Ideally the vlogs and the old style videos can now both be created with me having a little more free time. If you have any ideas for videos leave a comment below. This is Lake District Bouldering | Climbing Daily Ep.1187

Today we go bouldering in the Lake District. Trad climbing on the stunning Lake District crags has been well established and documented, but we wanted to look at the bouldering potential hidden away in the mountains. We met up with local climbing wad Charlie Woodburn and a bunch of strong locals to show us the bouldering on offer. What we found was spectacular.
