'Ball So Hard' | The Ball Family Documentary

The Ball Family has taken the basketball world by storm thanks to Lonzo, Liangelo, and Lamelo Ball's game on the court and Lavar Ball's talk off the court. Lavar is definitely a character. You may not agree with everything Lavar says and does, as he's often purposely controversial, but you have to agree with the fact that so far he has been a marketing genius. What the family is trying to do by taking control of their own branding and by being indipendent rather than being owned by a bigger brand is a unique, inspirational, bold, and a pioneer move, which could start a new era and a new way of branding for athletes.. So far his sons haven't played a single game in the NBA. Will Lavar have the last laugh? We'll see.. In the meantime get familiar with the Ball family going behind the scenes with this short documentary.

When it comes to LA basketball, Aaron Holiday’s family legacy is pretty deep. Both of his parents were college basketball players and l his 3 siblings all earned college basketball scholarships.. His older brothers, Justin and Jrue, now both play in the NBA and most recently, Justin became a 2015 NBA Champion with the Golden State Warriors. While basketball is a family tradition, Aaron has never felt pressure to play and has always gotten support from his parents and siblings to be himself. Now, he will be heading to UCLA this fall.

Los Angeles, CA will always be the land of glitz and glamour. But how does the next batch of hoop stars not get caught up in the HYPE? Devin Williams (Shift Team HQ) travels back to his hometown and revisits his basketball roots to find out.

“Heart of the City” is a documentary web series that tells the story of 6 North American cities through the lens of basketball. Each episode focuses on a different city and throws the viewer into the middle of the hoops scene. Every journey needs a guide and ours is Devin Williams of Shift Team HQ. Devin is a trainer, a former player, and a student of the game.

Throughout the series, Devin watches up-and-coming local players try to become the city’s best and spends time in the gym with top trainers and coaches.

But that’s not it... We also dive deeper into the day-to-day lives of the characters who define the game in their city. We see what their lives look like. Where they come from. Where they’re going. What drives them. It’s a ground-level, slice of life approach that, at the end of an episode, is both a pulse-taking of each city’s basketball culture, but also a portrait of that city itself.

POTUS Obama & Family Enjoy a Basketball Game in Honolulu

HONOLULU, Dec. 23, 2013 - The vacationing President Barack Obama and the first family skipped the beach in Hawaii this Sunday to take in a college basketball game.

Obama, first lady Michelle Obama, daughters Sasha and Malia and mother-in-law Marian Robinson attended the Oregon State-Akron game Sunday at the Diamond Head Classic tournament in Honolulu.

Obama and the first family sat behind the Beavers bench in support of OSU coach Craig Robinson, Obama's brother-in-law, with the president sitting in between his wife and friend Bobby Titcomb.

The crowd of 3,405 mostly cheered Obama when he appeared out of one of the Stan Sheriff lower tunnels. Fans took pictures while press photographers and videographers crowded an entrance to take pictures. Throughout the game, some fans ignored the action on the floor and watched the president instead.

The arena beefed up security because of the president, screening fans, players and cheerleaders and their belongings with metal detectors in the hours before the tournament tipped off.

Obama is a noted basketball fan and recreational player. Oregon State was 4-0 with Obama in attendance, but Akron beat Oregon State 83 to 71.

It was the second OSU game this season Obama attended. He saw the Beavers win at Maryland last month.

The president and his motorcade left the arena shortly after the game ended.

The president's motorcade earlier left his Kailua vacation home for Manoa at about 2:18 p.m. Some people who were stopped along the way for the motorcade got out of their vehicles to wave at the spectacle and flash the shaka sign at the president.
