Nordic Combined Mixed Team - Russia win gold | Lillehammer 2016 Youth Olympic Games

Highlights of the Mixed Team Nordic Combined NH/3x3.3km on Day 8 of the 2016 Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer.

The Russian team were able to claim a comfortable victory, but separating Norway and Germany during the Cross-Country needed a photo finish, with the host nation just claiming silver.

Life on the Nordic Combined World Cup Tour is not always easy, especially when you live so far away, that you can't go home after competitions. In this case, it's good to have your teammates to help you being at home, far away from home, as Team Japan shows in this edition of Behind the Scenes.

Nordic Combined is a winter sport in which athletes compete in both cross-country skiing and ski jumping. The first major competition in Nordic combined was held in 1892 in Oslo at the first Holmenkollen Ski Festival, an event still held annually. The sport was included at the 1924 Winter Olympics, and has been on the programme ever since.

Nordic Combined - Tim Kopp (GER) wins Men's gold | Lillehammer 2016 Youth Olympic Games

Highlights of the Men's Individual Gundersen NH/5km Cross-Country Race at the Birkebeineren Cross Country Stadium on Day 5 of the 2016 Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer.

The top 3 finished almost 50 seconds ahead of the rest of the field, but Tim Kopp just edged out Ben Loomis and Ondrej Pazout.

Countdown has just started ahead of this week Nordic Combined World Cup stage on the French soil. Chaux-Neuve, a regular stop since 1996, will host a Gundersen LH and a Team competition on Jan. 20-21.
